LIFT OFF - Cross Border Human Rights Education Initiative
Main Menu
Welcome to the website for the LIFT OFF Initiative! This is an innovative and exciting initiative for primary schools in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland which uses human rights principles to support teaching and learning within the framework of the curricula in both jurisdictions.Teachers and principals have been at the vanguard of LIFT OFF since its inception in 2001. They have not only written and piloted the materials for use in the primary school classroom but also undertaken whole school projects which have ensured that the ethos of human rights informs policy and practice throughout the school. The initiative has received rave reviews from teachers, principals, academics (and children!) across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
