Celebrate 20 Years of the CRC
Friday, October 30, 2009
In 1989, world leaders decided that children needed a special convention just for them . The leaders also wanted to make sure that the world recognized that children have human rights too. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is the first legally binding international instrument to incorporate the full range of human rights-including civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights.
November 20th is Children's Rights Day. Mark this special anniversary in your school by trying out some of the special birthday ideas in our activity section.
We would love to hear from you if you take part in any CRC Birthday celebrations. Pllease email us your stories and pictures so we can share your experiences with others.
